2011-12 International Schools Essay Competition and Debate (Río +20)

As part of the lead-up to the Rio+20 Earth Summit in Brazil in June 2012, the Living Rainforest is organising an international essay competition for primary and secondary schoolchildren, Dear Mr. UN Secretary-General ...
We want to hear what children think governments and world leaders should be doing to build a more sustainable future on planet Earth.
First Prize is a once-in-a-life time trip to attend the Rio+20 Earth Summit in Brazil, with other winners receiving trophies and certificates. We think it's a great opportunity to engage children in this important global debate.
Interested teachers, schools & parents can register here. The deadline is 30 March 2012 for registration and essay submissions.
Note: Primary and secondary schoolchildren can participate from anywhere around the world as long as the essays are submitted in English.

Schools Debate
The Schools Debate will take place at The Living Rainforest on 16-17 May 2012. Each primary or secondary school will be represented by two students, plus one teacher champion. The debates for primary and secondary students will occur on different days (primary 16 May 2012; secondary 17 May 2012).

Como parte de la etapa previa a la Cumbre de la Tierra Río +20 en Brasil en junio de 2012,
Living Rainforest organiza un concurso internacional de ensayos para estudiantes de primaria y secundaria, Estimado Sr. Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas ...
Queremos escuchar lo que los niños piensan que los gobiernos y los líderes mundiales deberían estar haciendo para construir un futuro más sostenible en el planeta Tierra.
El primer premio es un viaje para asistir a la Cumbre de la Tierra Río +20 en Brasil, los demás ganadores reciben trofeos y certificados. Creemos que es una gran oportunidad para que los niños participen en este debate global importante.
Los maestros, las escuelas y los padres interesados pueden registrarse aquí. La fecha límite es el 30 de marzo de 2012 para solicitudes de registro y envío del ensayo.
Nota aclaratoria: Pueden participar estudiantes de primaria y secundaria desde cualquier lugar del mundo siempre y cuando los ensayos se presenten en inglés.
